The story of PLATFORM Golf begins with a simple but profound idea: putting shouldn’t be practiced on flat ground—because real golf doesn’t happen on flat ground.

Foundations: Glen Coombe & the Birth of the Perfection Platform

The origin of PLATFORM Golf traces back to Glen Coombe, a putting expert and biomechanics innovator who created the original Perfection Platform—a manually adjustable putting surface that trained golfers to read, feel, and trust slope underfoot.

Commercialization: Robb Gibb Takes the Concept to Market

Recognizing the potential in Glen’s invention, Robb Gibb stepped in to build a commercial business around the product under the name Perfection Platforms. Robb turned Glen’s prototype into a scalable tool for instructors, fitters, and facilities. The platform gained traction with elite putting coaches like David Orr and Kevin Weeks.

During this growth phase, Robb received key strategic support from Thomas Hackett and Rory Flanagan, who advised on product-market fit, go-to-market approach, and commercial strategy.

The Turning Point: From Perfection Platforms to Platform Golf

In 2024, Thomas and Rory acquired the business and rebranded it as PLATFORM Golf, with a bold ambition to redefine how golfers train, simulate, and learn using real-world slope underfoot.

They immediately expanded the hardware roadmap, moving from static and manual platforms to digitally actuated systems capable of changing lie angles in real time.

Execution: Building the New Standard in Golf Technology

From 2024 onward, PLATFORM Golf achieved rapid growth and industry validation:

• Integration with TruGolf, powering a rollout across 6,000+ simulators and 146+ commercial sites.

• Development of the PLATFORM Golf Academy featuring elite instructors like Brad Faxon, Claude Harmon III, Stephen Sweeney, and Athletic Motion Golf.

• Strategic Commercial partnerships to extend PLATFORM products into showrooms, garages, retail stores, and mobile activations.

• High-profile installs at TaylorMade HQ, Cobra Puma Golf, AMG Golf and Precision Golf in the UK.

• A Middle East debut at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, becoming the region’s first simulator with full putting and lie-adjustment integration.
